Parking in Vienna
As of 5 September 2016, the parking management system in Vienna was expanded to include the 18th district.
Parking you car in public streets is a very simple matter as long as you are familiar with some basic rules. Parts of Vienna are short-term parking zones for which you require a prepaid parking voucher (Parkschein). Should you still end up with a parking ticket the Municipal Department 67 - supervision of on-street parking - will assist with any questions you may have.
In general, everyone who has their main residence in one of the districts covered by area-wide short-term parking may purchase a "parking sticker" (Parkpickerl) for their respective district. You can order a resident parking permit (parking stickers) online or directly from the municipal district office for your district.
If you do not want to leave your car parked on the street a parking guidance system will help you find a garage quickly. Electronic technology is used to guide drivers to the nearest and most convenient garages and Park & Ride facilities. Dynamic displays provide information on the nearest garages and available spaces.
