Interface Lernhilfe and Vienna Public Learning Centres (Volkshochschule - VHS) provide tutoring and remedial teaching for children between 6 and 10 years of age (primary school age) in Vienna.

Interface Wien also offers tutoring for children from low-income families directly at their schools. Vienna Public Learning Centres (VHS) provide free of charge tutoring and remedial teaching under the "Förderung 2.0" programme.

German language summer courses

Sowieso mehr!

Sowieso Mehr! German language summer courses are free of charge language courses for school children between 7 and 14 years of age in Vienna. The summer course programme also includes leisure activities such as games and sports.

Children who failed or nearly failed their German class at school because they had a "Genügend" (4) or "Nicht Genügend" (5) in their school report can participate in a two-week course during the summer. The language courses support children in improving their German language skills for the next school year. In the afternoons, the children can pursue leisure activities and are supervised by educational social workers.

Summer School

The Summer School project offers German, maths and English courses during the summer holidays. The courses are offered for children in Vienna between 7 and 14 years of age who failed or nearly failed these subjects at school because they had a "Genügend" (4) or "Nicht Genügend" (5) in their school report.

All pupils who participate in Summer School attend German language courses in the mornings. Pupils who are over 11 years of age also attend English and maths courses. After lunch all children can participate in leisure and sports programmes.
