The City of Vienna supports new residents of Vienna in taking their first steps in Austria and offers them free counselling, advice and information events in more than 20 languages.

StartWien - services for new residents of Vienna

The free offers of the StartWien programme are tailored to people who have just arrived in Vienna from other EU countries or from third countries.

Start-up Support for persons entitled to asylum

Persons entitled to asylum (Asylberechtigte) and persons entitled to subsidiary protection (subsidiär Schutzberechtigte) receive support and advice for up to two years via the Start-up Support (Startbegleitung) of Interface Wien. The programme starts as soon as primary care (Grundversorgung) ends.

StartWien College

The StartWien college is an educational offer for young people from 15 to 25 years of age, who have just arrived in Vienna.

Services for refugees and displaced persons

People, who had to flee their home country and want to apply for asylum in Austria, receive support from day one after their arrival.
