Danger of wildfires: Until further notice, there is a strict ban on smoking, handling open flames and lights, using shishas (water pipes) and lighting fires in or near woodland areas in Vienna. Barbecues are prohibited in public areas, including designated barbecue zones and spots.

Heat action plan

The Vienna Heat Action Plan proactively defines measures for preventing and coping with overheating in the city. They prepare above all the health facilities, care, and nursing institutions for heat-related emergencies.
