On invitation of UN-Habitat, the City of Vienna presented the exhibition "The Vienna Model of Social Housing" at the UN headquarters in Nairobi on 25 March 2025 on occasion of the meeting of the Executive Board. Ernst Woller, First President of the Vienna Provincial Parliament, opened the exhibition together with Anacláudia Rossbach, United Nations Under-Secretary-General and Executive Director of UN-Habitat, Michal Mlynár, Deputy Executive Director of UN-Habitat, and Christian Fellner, Austrian ambassador in Kenia.

UN-Habitat is the United Nations Human Settlements Programme. It is mandated by the UN General Assembly to promote socially and environmentally sustainable towns and cities. UN-Habitat is the central contact point in the UN system for all questions regarding urbanisation and human settlements.

Dozens of interested diplomats and members of the Executive Board of UN-Habitat from all around the world were inspired by Vienna's housing policies and confirmed the city's status as model of social housing.

The exhibition is shown at the UN headquarters in Nairobi over the next few months and will be displayed at several universities in Nairobi later.
