Visitors explore nature of Danube Island

This year's Diversity Day was held on 3 September 2022, with free guided walks and info stands to showcase the Danube Island and its flora and fauna to the numerous nature-loving visitors. The programme also featured DICCA bike tours to a climate garden and other measures implemented as part of the EU project.

The event was organised by Municipal Department 45 - Water Management (MA 45) under the auspices of its EU LIFE DICCA project, with support from Municipal Department 22 - Environmental Protection (MA 22).

The centre of the day's activities was the meadow beside barbecue area 0, near the Tritonwasser, an excellent place for a refreshment stop. The largest artificially created pond on the Danube Island, the Tritonwasser provides habitats for amphibians, beavers, birds and other aquatic creatures.
