22^nd Christmas exhibition "When winter arrives - between celebrations, traditions & magic"

From November 13 to December 21 the Municipal Department 42 - Parks and Gardens showcases the most beautiful aspects of the cold season with their Christmas exhibition in the Hirschstetten Flower Gardens. The 2025 theme is "When winter arrives - between celebrations, traditions & magic". Each station of the exhibition is lovingly handcrafted with countless flowers and tells a winter story: from the mysterious sparkle of the forest, a sleigh ride or the bakery to the Holy Night in the glow of the Peace Light.

Visitors can explore the festively decorated gardens on an atmospheric walk, past magnificently decorated Christmas trees, brightly lit angels, stars, and imaginative figures.

Traditional Advent market

Over 50 Christmas stalls transform the path between the north and south entrances into a sparkling winter wonderland. In addition to culinary delicacies and hearty specialties you can enjoy punch in the pre-Christmas atmosphere and buy handcrafted Christmas gifts - from wooden toys to unique tree decorations.

Program for children

At the craft station in the Event Greenhouse 2 children can write and decorate their letters to Santa Claus. The Vienna City Gardens' "Christkindl Post Office" is open for this purpose during opening hours from 10 am to 8 pm.

The two merry-go-rounds and the illuminated train in the gardens will also help pass the time while waiting for Santa Claus.

48er-Tandler

The 48er-Tandler which celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2025 is traditionally represented with its outlet in the Greenhouse 2 event venue. Bargains, unique items with history, tableware, clothes, books, sports equipment: you can buy all this and much more in the way of high-quality, functional second-hand goods at reasonable prices here. Maybe you'll discover a Christmas gift or two. The best thing to do is to wrap your finds straight away in the 48er's reusable gift bag.

Charity punch for TierQuarTier

This year, there will once again be a punch stand, with proceeds going to TierQuarTier Wien in Donaustadt.

Music program

The Donaustadt Cultural Association is once again offering a varied music program this year. The program includes classic Christmas carols, country Christmas songs, and - of course - Viennese music.
