Vienna New Year’s Eve Trail at Graben

On 31 December Vienna turns into one big street party: For more than 30 years, it has been one of the main attractions of the Austrian federal capital. Around 700,000 visitors from Austria and abroad are celebrating the New Year from 2 pm until 2 am. Admission is free.

Guests can choose from a diverse programme, which is displayed at various show stages set up in different locations throughout the city, among them Stephansplatz, Freyung and Graben: a kids party, a number of live bands and DJs, interactive waltz workshops at Graben or public viewing live broadcast from the Vienna State Opera.

Caterers at numerous stalls offer hot punch and a variety of culinary delights to round up the celebrations.

Pyrotechnics are strictly forbidden at the Vienna New Year's Eve Trail and throughout the city. Offences will be charged and/or fined.
