All you need to access the service is a WiFi-enabled device like most notebook computers, smartphones or tablets. Fast, wireless internet access is possible within about 100 metres of the Access Point.

Some WiFi Access Points in Vienna are directly linked to the Vienna city map. They provide free-of-charge access to public administration web pages (i.e. websites with domain names ending in .gv.)

The detailed terms of use are available from the provider of the respective WiFi service.

wien.at Public WLAN

wien.at Public WLAN is the City of Vienna’s location-based information system. Access Points (i.e. transmitting stations) have been set up in selected locations to create a wireless local area network (WLAN).
