Getting married or register your civil partnership at the register office

The 5 register offices provide a beautiful backdrop for your civil wedding. The fees for a civil wedding at the register office are approximately between EUR 70 and EUR 170.

Wedding times

• Monday to Friday: morning or afternoon upon prior arrangement with the register office
• No weddings on Good Friday, Holy Saturday, Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve

Reserving a date

You can make a reservation for a wedding date online on the internet or in person. Please note that you cannot make a reservation online if both partners do not have a residence in Austria. In this case, if you want to get married in Vienna, you can contact the register office of your choice in person, in writing or by telephone to make a reservation and register to get married there.

Dates and procedure for tourist weddings

If you do not have a residence in Austria but want to get married or enter into a civil partnership in Vienna, please contact the division for tourist weddings (Referat für Touristenhochzeiten) at touristwedding@ma63.wien.gv.at. Your e-mail should include the following information: your full names, wedding date of your choice, country of birth, nationality, home address and marital status.
