Vienna City Gardens welcomes visitors to its 23rd floral Christmas exhibition, themed "The Magic of Christmas". Created with exceptional attention to detail and imagination, the exhibition features magnificent floral arrangements, intricately designed displays and a brand-new illuminated trail that transforms the gardens into a sparkling winter setting. Together, these elements capture the anticipation and joy of the festive season.
A Floral Wonderland
In Greenhouse 1, a vibrant world of flowers awaits visitors, showcasing artfully arranged floral compositions. Across 15 carefully crafted scenes, beloved traditions and enchanting stories come to life. Glowing lanterns and stars, figures such as nutcrackers, angels and Santa Claus, snow-covered landscapes and an elegantly laid festive table invite visitors on a magical journey through the wonders of winter.
From a charming Christmas train and a mesmerising polar landscape to a winter forest filled with glowing woodland creatures, the creativity and imagination of the Vienna City Gardens team know no bounds. This year, more than 900 poinsettias, over 340 fir trees, numerous cyclamens and Calocephalus plants, as well as exotic blooms such as amaryllis (Hippeastrum), create a captivating tapestry of colours and textures, bringing a touch of Christmas charm to every corner of the exhibition.
New: A Sparkling Christmas Trail Through the Gardens
New light installations transform the outdoor grounds into a spectacular display of light and colour. Shooting stars, a reindeer sleigh, an impressive tower of presents, an illuminated bridge spanning the lily pond and a pavilion adorned with twinkling lights create a magical fairy-tale setting.
Thoughtfully designed photo spots offer the perfect opportunity to capture special moments.

Market Delights and Handcrafted Treasures
Adding to the seasonal atmosphere, the popular Christmas market organised by the Kulturverein Donaustadt features more than 50 stalls. From tempting seasonal treats and regional specialities to unique handmade crafts, thoughtful gift ideas and beautiful decorations, there is plenty to discover. Take a leisurely stroll through the market, browse the stalls and find inspiration for the festive season.
Christmas Fun for Little Ones
Vienna City Gardens Christmas craft station: In Glasshouse 2, children can decorate their own Christmas cards and let their creativity shine. The station is open daily from 10 am to 8 pm throughout the exhibition.
- Mr. Günther Haunzwickl's Creative Station: Young artists can create unique sand pictures in exchange for a contribution towards the cost of materials.
- Photo Memories: A photographer in Glasshouse 2 captures special moments against a backdrop of winter decorations for a small fee.
- Fairground Rides: Two carousels and the illuminated miniature train in the gardens promise plenty of fun and entertainment for younger guests.
More Highlights: Charity Punch for TierQuarTier Wien and the 48er-Tandler
As in previous years, visitors can enjoy a warming cup of punch at the charity stand. All proceeds go directly to TierQuarTier Wien. Since opening in 2015, this modern animal shelter has provided care and a safe haven for abandoned, stray and lost animals. With dedication and compassion, the team cares for each animal until it finds a loving new home.
For more than a decade, the 48er-Tandler has been a popular destination for pre-loved goods in excellent condition and unique finds with a story to tell. In Glasshouse 2, visitors can once again browse a selection of second-hand treasures and one-of-a-kind items. From tableware, clothing and books to sports equipment and many other hidden gems, there is plenty to discover at affordable prices. You might even find the perfect gift to bring joy to a loved one this festive season.

The Kulturverein Donaustadt presents an eclectic musical programme that captures the spirit of the festive season. Guests can look forward to a delightful mix of traditional Christmas classics, country-inspired tunes and melodies with a distinctly Viennese flavour.
