The Vienna Ombuds Office for Environmental Protection (Wiener Umweltanwaltschaft - WUA) was established in 1993 under the Vienna Environmental Protection Act as an independent body of the Federal Province of Vienna that is not subject to directions. Its primary aim consists in upholding the interests of environmental protection on behalf of the local population, thus contributing towards improving the environmental situation in Vienna.
