The solar potential map shows the potential which roofs in Vienna are suitable for using solar energy to generate heat (solar thermal generation) or electricity (photovoltaics). see map

Approximately one third of Vienna's area is well suited for using near-surface geothermal energy and ground water for energy purposes. In addition to providing information to Vienna's citizens, this map is also an important tool for regional energy planning. see map

This map layer shows subsidised plants for the utilisation of solar energy, hydropower, wind power, biomass and landfill gas, as well as conventional power plants and waste incinerators. see map
