Child-care Centres

In Vienna, parents and guardians can choose between private and municipal kindergartens. All children can attend municipal and private kindergartens in Vienna free of charge until they start compulsory schooling. Additional costs may arise for meals or for extra services offered by private kindergartens, children's groups or day parents. To be eligible for a free kindergarten place, at least one parent and the child need to have their main place of residence in Vienna for the whole time the child attends kindergarten.
