Reserving a date

If you want to get married or register your civil partnership in a dream wedding venue, you need to reserve a date and time with the competent division "Traumhochzeit in Wien" (Dream Weddings in Vienna) beforehand.

  • Times for dream weddings:
    • Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday at 4 pm and 6 pm
    • Saturday at 10 am, 12 noon and 2 pm
    • No wedding ceremonies on public holidays, Good Friday, Holy Saturday, Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve

Reserving a venue

Once you have reserved a date and time for your dream wedding, you should contact the dream wedding venue of your choice to make a reservation at your dream wedding venue.

Registering to get married

Once you have reserved a wedding date and venue, you can register to get married or enter into a civil partnership six months beforehand at the earliest.

When you register to get married or enter into a civil partnership, the registrar will check if both partners meet all legal requirements to get married.

E-government services

Couples without a residence in Austria

If you do not have a residence in Austria, please contact the division for tourist weddings (Referat für Touristenhochzeiten) at touristwedding@ma63.wien.gv.at. Your e-mail should include the following information: your full names, wedding date of your choice, country of birth, nationality, home address and marital status.

Fees

Legal fees for a dream wedding are usually around EUR 500 or 600 depending on the number of documents that need to be processed. These fees do not include the costs for a dream wedding venue. Please contact the operator of your dream wedding venue directly to find out the exact costs.
