Films and Cinemas in Vienna

There are a number of cinemas in Vienna showing films in English or in their original language. To find the right version look out for the following abbreviations in the cinema programme: OV (original version), OmU (original version with subtitles) and OmeU (original version with English subtitles).

In the summer there are open-air screens for cinema aficionados to enjoy their favourite films. Vienna’s biggest annual open air film festival is held in front of the City Hall (Rathausplatz). This is a good place to watch films on classical music.
