Currently there are 26 markets in the traditional sense, that means selling mainly foodstuffs. Five of these markets are temporary markets and are not held from Monday to Saturday but on special days of the week only.
Three of the markets in the Vienna city centre are not held throughout the year. They sell mainly arts, crafts and antiques but also food. The flea market next to Naschmarkt takes place every Saturday throughout the year.
