Exemption permit for trade-related off-site customer service - mobile workshops (e.g. carpenters, plumbers, etc.) pursuant to Art. 45(2) Austrian Federal Road Traffic Act (StVO1960)

Requirements

  • The vehicle is registered to the business location and is used regularly multiple times per week for trade-related off-site service and maintenance activities that require parking longer than the permitted maximum parking duration in the area-wide short-term parking zone.
  • No parking is available at the worksite.
  • The 2-hour permitted maximum parking duration in the area-wide short-term parking zone is not sufficient for the company's business activities.

Documents required

  • Application with a detailed statement explaining the need for an exemption permit pursuant to Art. 45(2) Austrian Federal Road Traffic Act (StVO 1960)
  • Proof of permission to perform said business activity (e.g. business licence, permit)
  • Copy of the vehicle licence, registered to the company name and business location
  • Upon request, the authorities must be provided with proof of service and maintenance activities that require parking for longer than the permitted maximum parking duration of 2 hours at one address:
    • e.g. invoices, work orders, order confirmations. If 20 records from 10 different Viennese districts are provided, the parking permit will be issued for all districts.

Please note

  • Using only a daily or weekly flat-rate card without a valid exemption permit pursuant to Art. 45(2) Austrian Federal Road Traffic Act ((StVO1960) is not permitted and will not be considered valid.
  • Daily and weekly flat-rate cards are available at the cash offices of Municipal Department 6 - Accounting Services, Duties and Charges (MA 6).
  • The daily and weekly flat-rate cards are not available at the cash offices at Municipal Department 35 - Immigration and Citizenship (MA 35).
  • The parking permit is not valid in short-term parking zones on individual streets (e.g. shopping streets).
