Viennese Markets

You must wear a FFP2 face mask on markets. Please take note of the markings on the road and information signs to enable social distancing.

Hospitality venues such as restaurants and cafés are closed except for takeaways and delivery service. The flea market at Naschmarkt is open for the time being.

Opening hours for personal appointments at the Market Authority (Marktamt) are still restricted. In very urgent cases, please phone the Market Authority before going there in person.

Currently there are 22 markets in the traditional sense, that means selling mainly foodstuffs. Five of these markets are temporary markets and are not held from Monday to Saturday but on special days of the week only.

Three of the markets in the Vienna city centre are not held throughout the year. They sell mainly arts, crafts and antiques but also food. The flea market next to Naschmarkt takes place every Saturday throughout the year.

Special Occasions Markets

Special Occasions Markets are events similar to markets that are held on special occasions.
