International networks - Integration and Diversity (MA 17)

Municipal Department 17 - Integration and Diversity (MA 17) participates in Austrian and international networks. The staff of MA is in constant contact with colleagues from other city administrations, in particular those of other European cities, and participates in conferences and meetings.

ECCAR

The European Coalition of Cities against Racism (ECCAR) was established as an international network of cities that jointly and effectively fight racism, discrimination and xenophobia.

EUROCITIES

MA 17 is actively involved in the EUROCITIES network as part of the working group "Migration and Integration" of the Social Affair Forum. The working group developed the peer review project 'Diversity and Equality in European Cities' (DIVE) that is co-financed by the EU. The project emerged from the "Integrating Cities" policy dialogue that is based on an annual conference series and was established in 2006 to promote the integration of migrants at local level.

Network for Culture of Democracy and Prevention

The Network focuses on projects promoting the democratic culture in Vienna and the prevention of degrading ideologies and extremisms.
