Visits by international delegations

A man gives a lecture for a group

The City of Vienna offers representatives from politics and administration from abroad the opportunity to learn about their experiences and best practices in various municipal areas and to exchange ideas with experts from the city administration.

Important notes

Please consider the following key points before sending an inquiry regarding a delegation visit to Vienna:

  • Making contact: Contact must be made directly by the institution (city, province, state) sending the delegation or via the respective diplomatic representation in Vienna. Requests from travel agencies and private intermediaries cannot be processed.
  • Lead time: Please send your inquiry at least 6 weeks before your planned visit.
  • Organisation and costs: The delegation is responsible for organisational aspects in connection with the visit, such as transport, accommodation or interpreting services. They are responsible for all costs incurred in this regard. If the delegation does not speak German or English, an interpreter must be provided by the delegation.
  • Invitations: We are not able to issue invitation letters. If required, a confirmation of the visit or of appointments with the municipality can be issued.
  • Available appointments: In principle, appointments are made according to the availability of staff and schedules of the relevant departments and experts of the City of Vienna.
