Best of Monti Beton & Johann K.

Saturday, 23 May 2026
6.50 p.m. - 8.00 p.m.
Festival Stage
Last year, Monti Beton & Johann K. celebrated their 20th stage anniversary live at the Vienna State Opera – today they are rocking the Rathausplatz. The Vienna Rapid legend from Mariahilf and the Viennese cult band from Simmering and Hietzing: the common ground between the three protagonists, Hans Krankl, Thomas Schreiber, and Toni Matosic, is extensive, ranging from a love of great music and football to humour in the spirit of Monty Python.
On stage, a “best of” from the successful programmes of the past 20 years is performed, enriched with plenty of fitting witty remarks. The setlist features carefully selected titles from full-length shows such as “Il Spettacolo Italo-Americano”, “Die Schlagernacht des Schlagers”, or “Die Nacht des Austropop”, among others. And, as always, the inevitable will happen: not a single eye will remain dry, and complete strangers will embrace each other after the concert in sheer enthusiasm!

With a sound somewhere between Austropop and indie – somewhere between Voodoo Jürgens and a hint of Beirut – Laurenz, Isaac, and Moritz tell stories from everyday life in Vienna: Tinder dates, heartbreak, and the romance of old apartment buildings. bratfisch – Mailüfterl
Saturday, 23 May 2026
11.00 a.m. - 12.15 p.m.
Wienerlied Stage
Vienna is a world city – Bratfisch create “Weltstadtmusik”, as “Wienerlied” would be far too narrow a term for their sound despite its clearly audible local colour. In the distinctive original compositions of the programme “Mailüfterl”, local tradition merge with musical elements from the Balkans and South America, among others.
The stylistic diversity, and above all their immense joy of playing, guarantee a truly captivating concert experience.

3.30 p.m. - 4.45 p.m.
Wienerlied Stage
The Albtrieb Trio is known for its one-of-a-kind “double trio guarantee” – a concept that remains entirely their own. They breathe new life into traditional Ländler with witty, sometimes contemporary lyrics in Viennese dialect, while playfully distilling works by Mozart and Beethoven down to their essence.
And, more often than not, they do exactly what they originally set out to do:
create dance music for those who would rather stay in their seats.

Haertel, Wascher & Johanna Kugler – Jodler, Tanz' und Schleunige
Sunday, 24 May 2026
11.00 a.m. - 12.15 p.m.
Wienerlied Stage
Johanna Kugler, Hermann Haertel, and Simon Wascher devote themselves to the music they grew up with: traditional forms such as yodels, Ländler, Styrian dances, and Schleunige. Yet they interpret this heritage in a distinctly contemporary way – not because it is old, but in spite of it. The result is an improvisational music of the present: exuberant, heartfelt, and full of warmth.
