Monitoring – Processes and methodologies

The Vienna Climate Guide states that regular monitoring and evaluation procedures are required to clarify whether the City of Vienna will be able to attain its climate goals. This monitoring serves to survey the implementation progress and related activities with a view to the strategic levers and sets of measures laid down in the Vienna Climate Guide.

The present report is based on a dialogue process and a review of relevant records extending from autumn 2024 to early 2025. Bilateral working discussions with experts of the Vienna City Administration and selected externals stakeholders were used to accumulate a body of experiences, opinions and findings.

This was followed by an internal municipal and political co-ordination process in the first quarter of 2025. The present summary offers an overview of the outcomes. The full report will be completed and published at a later stage.
