4.2 Special Olympics Austria
Special Olympics Austria, the largest sports movement for people with intellectual disabilities in Austria, will be part of the Wienliebe Festival – and for good reason!
From June 25 to 30, 2026, the Special Olympics Summer Games will take place in Vienna. Around 1,800 athletes from all across Austria, as well as smaller delegations from abroad, will participate. A total of 19 sports disciplines will be contested.
At the festival on Saturday, May 23, and Sunday, May 24, Special Olympics will present an inclusive program:
Various sports stations (e.g. mini table tennis, cornhole, and similar activities), a creative corner for children and teenagers, as well as information about Special Olympics and the 2026 Summer Games invite visitors to join in and explore.
