The Austrian embassy in Rabat organised and coordinated the programme and the meetings in Morocco. Ernst Woller met with representatives of the city of Rabat, the region of Rabat/Kénitra, the city and region of Casablanca, the region of Tanger/Tetouan, and the Ministry of National Territory Rehabilitation, Urbanisation, Housing and City Governance. The talks focused on the challenges facing dynamically growing cities in the areas of environment and sustainability, green spaces, traffic and transport, economy and business, housing, waste management as well as culture and cultural heritage.

At a meeting with the President of the Moroccan regional council - a post similar to the Chairman of the provincial governors' conference in Austria - opportunities for cooperation with Vienna have been discussed.

The visit of branch offices of Austrian companies in Morocco reflected the success and economic relevance of Austrian direct investment.

Award ceremony at the Austrian embassy

Ernst Woller, President of the Vienna Provincial Parliament, participated in the award ceremony organised by Ambassador Klaus Kögeler, in which the Moroccan agency for energy efficiency was presented with the "Energy Globe Award 2021". His presence greatly contributed to the political and media interest in the ceremony, which also illustrated Austria's expertise in the area of sustainability.

The ceremony took place around the same time as the Glasgow Climate Change Conference and was a successful networking event for decision-makers, business representatives and international players.
