The cultural cooperation between Vienna and cities in Israel, in particular Tel Aviv-Jaffa and Jerusalem, has a long-standing tradition. There has been a mutual exchange between freelance artists as well as between cultural institutions. On occasion of the visit of the Vienna delegation, the focus was on a contemporary Holocaust remembrance culture for future generations in view of the time that has passed as well as on an increasing need and interest to open up a culture of remembrance in digital space.

The visit was concluded by a solemn wreath laying ceremony in the Hall of Remembrance at the World Holocaust Remembrance Centre Yad Vashem together with Austrian Ambassador to Israel Hannah Liko.
