16th Global Peter Drucker Forum in Vienna
Business and management visionaries met in Vienna on 14 and 15 November 2024. Numerous executives and experts attended the 16th Global Peter Drucker Forum at the Vienna Hofburg. Journalists from countries with International Offices of the City of Vienna were also present. The discussions focused on the further development of knowledge work under the theme "Next Knowledge Work". The first part of this five-year programme is "The Next Management".
This year's Forum focused on the challenges facing today's leaders in successfully managing their organisations in a time of rapid change and technological advancement where traditional management methods are no longer sufficient. Artificial intelligence is widely used to support sophisticated intellectual tasks, remote working arrangements are spreading, and new platforms are emerging to support collaborative innovation. Recent insights into human psychology are also making work more meaningful and motivating.
The general consensus at this year's conference was that success today requires new practices based on agile, creative and people-centred leadership. Projects and organisations will fail regardless of the quality of the technology if effective leadership is lacking. The Forum provided leaders and management experts from around the world with inspiring presentations and panels, as well as the opportunity for lively discussion and learning from each other.
International journalists
The City of Vienna once again welcomed a delegation of journalists to the Forum. Media representatives from Forbes and Business Insider in Poland, the Slovenian business and financial news agency Bloomberg Adria and the Croatian daily newspaper Jutarnji list were present.
