Compensation for victims of Nazi persecution

On 17 January 2001 the Republic of Austria committed itself in the Joint Settlement on Holocaust Restitution to settle all property losses from the Nazi era that had never or not sufficiently been settled up to then. In 2001 the General Settlement Fund was established by law to settle all unsolved matters regarding the compensation of Nazi victims.
