The Chief Executive Office - European and International Affairs is in charge of Vienna's foreign aid and assistance. With its development cooperation programme, it supports NGOs in implementing development projects in Africa, Asia and Eastern Europe.

Proposals for development projects

Once a year, the Chief Executive Office - European and International Affairs invites NGOs to submit proposals for development projects. There is currently a call for proposals "Children's rights in development cooperation" (German).

In addition to the framework of the Call for Proposals, applications have to meet the following quality criteria:

  1. Experienced Development Cooperation NGO based in Vienna
  2. Project of one to three years in a country listed on DAC by the OECD
  3. Poverty reduction
  4. Empowerment
  5. Sustainability
  6. Gender equality
  7. Millennium Development Goals
  8. Audit by a Chartered Accountant of the project country

Publications

Every year the Chief Executive Office - European and International Affairs publishes a report of Vienna's Development Cooperation Projects as well as the activities in the field of Humanitarian Aid.
