Tuition fees

In Austria, some students have to pay tuition fees. Austrian citizens as well as EU and EEA-citizens are freed from fees if they complete their studies within the minimum amount of time (plus two semesters). If they take longer, they have to pay the fees. Students who are not EU and EEA-citizens, generally have to pay tuition fees of EUR 363,36. However, there are lots of exceptions.

In addition there is a student fee (for the Austrian Student Union) of EUR 16.86 per semester. This fee also includes an insurance. Amounts are the same for Austrian and non-Austrian citizens. This covers accident and third-party insurance for all students. Also covered are accidents incurred travelling to or from university or during study-relevant activities.
