Deadline

The deadline for written applications for a photo or film permit is ten working days before the designated start of the shoot, and 20 working days if a site inspection (on-site meeting) is required. Applications for vehicle entry permits (sample: 5 KB PDF) in no stopping zones must be made at least six working days before the designated start of the shoot.

  • For photo and film permits that are not expected to require an on-site meeting: ten days
  • For permits that require an on-site meeting: at least 20 working days before the start of the shoot
  • For applications limited to no stopping zones (if the photo or filming location is indoors) at least six working days in advance

Please note

An on-site meeting usually increases the time it will take to process your application. On-site meetings are required in the following cases:

  • If main or side streets have to be closed
  • If traffic has to be stopped on main arteries (even if the duration is under five minutes)
  • In special circumstances (for example much frequented pavements or pedestrian zones, et cetera)

If you wish to make any changes to a permit already granted (e.g. new time, date or location), you need to submit a new application. The above deadlines also apply in this case.

If a no stopping zone is required, you must put up the respective road signs at least 24 hours before the no stopping zone enters into force. By this time, you must already be in possession of the corresponding administrative order (Bescheid). Please take this into account when planning the processing times for your project.
