Erection or Operation of a Market Stand - Permits
General requirements
You will need a permit issued by the Market Authority to put up or to operate a production facility on market places and/or in market stands in the case of:
- the erection of stable buildings
- important modifications to long-term stable buildings (rebuilding, installations)
- setting up a sales cart
- setting up a sales stand
- modifications of the external appearance of stable buildings, sales cars and sales stands
- activation of and changes to technical installations (gas, electricity, water, sewage disposal)
Documents required
Please include in your documents a description and a plan of how you will put your undertaking into effect. If necessary, please list which machinery, equipment or machines need to be exchanged/operated or which facilities you will need additionally to the existing ones. For your application for a Market Authority permit you will need a description of the building and five copies of the necessary maps. If machinery or equipment need to be installed, please enclose five copies of the list and the descriptions of the machines (service manuals, for example for fridges include information about the wattage, type of energy, coolant quantity and required pressure).

Please note
The Market Authority permit replaces the operation authorisation (Betriebsanlagenbewilligung) according to the Trade Regulation Act, but not a building license (if needed).
Please note that a Market Authority permit can only be issued if there is no danger to people, if the local market conditions allow for it and if there is no adverse effect on the general market appearance.
