Lighting technician examination - application

General requirements

To be admitted to take the lighting technician examination, applicants must prove that they have received adequate training and have practised the trade for a certain time.

Documents required

• Valid official photo documentation or valid travel document for EU citizens or residence registration certificate
• Apprentice, journeyman or master electrician certificate or an apprentice, journeyman or master certificate in another relevant recognised trade, and documentation proving that the applicant has practised the trade for a minimum of one year.
  • or documentation proving comparable training through working in the trade
  • or a certificate showing the successful completion of a relevant school
• Proof of at least one year of work experience and instruction as a lighting technician at an event venue where it is mandatory to have a lighting technician in charge.

Fees

The fees are due after the procedure has been concluded and amount to:

  • Federal fee per page of attachment: EUR 3.60
• Processing fees
  • Federal fee for the certificate: EUR 13.20
  • Administrative fee for the admission: EUR 9.44
  • Administrative fee for the certificate: EUR 6.54

Please note

Legal basis: Vienna Events Act, Provincial Law Gazette no. 1971/12 as amended The lighting technician certificate will be issued immediately after passing the exam. You must bring two passport photos.
