Open Source Software on PC-workstations of Vienna's City Administration

Open Source Software (OSS) products for the City's server sector were first introduced several years ago. Because of the positive experience gained, development of OSS standard components for workplaces has been observed closely for some time now. Following a study published in 2004, OSS products have been available for PC workstations of the Vienna City Administration since July 2005.

In addition to the operating systems MS Windows 2000 and MS Windows XP, we currently offer WIENUX for workstations suited for it. In 2007, some 1000 PC workstations were equipped with WIENUX.
