Online order of documents
You can only order documents online if the birth, marriage or death of a person has already been registered, or if the birth or death was after 1 January 1939 in Vienna or the marriage after 1 August 1938 in Vienna.
To order documents online you have to know the exact dates of the person whose documents you need. If you do not know the data but know at which registry office the birth, marriage or death was registered, please contact that registry office directly.
What to do if you do not have the required data
If you know neither the exact data nor the registry office, please contact the central register (Zentralkartothek) of the registry offices in Vienna:

Fees
There is a fee of EUR 14.30 per online order of documents.
Additionally, you will have to pay EUR 9.30 for each document issued by a registry office.
For transcriptions from family registers (marriages before 1 January 1984) there is a fee of EUR 10.40.
If you do not pay the fees online, the registry office will demand the fees in writing. There are no fees for documents issued by public authorities and public corporations.
Delivery
You will receive the document/s you ordered per registered letter.
If you go to a registry office in Vienna in person or if you order the documents by phone, you do not have to pay the fee of EUR 14.30.
